Zeynep Kaymas, a second-year undergraduate student in the Department of Performing Arts, has been accepted to the International Federation for Theatre Research (IFTR) Conference, one of the most prestigious academic events in the field of theatre studies.
At the conference held in June in Cologne, Germany, Kaymas presented a paper titled “The Disclosure of the Absurd in the Carnivalesque” as part of the main program.
Established in 1957, the International Federation for Theatre Research (IFTR) is a distinguished academic organization that supports scholars engaged in theatre and performance research across the globe. With members from 66 countries and all continents, the Federation fosters international academic exchange through conferences and scholarly publications. IFTR publishes the Theatre Research International journal—indexed in AHCI—through Cambridge Core, and the Themes in Theatre book series in collaboration with Brill, focusing on collective works by IFTR members.
