The “Language of Patterns” exhibition organized by the Department of Visual Communication Design of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture of Istanbul Civilization University met with art lovers at the North Campus, Block B on May 5, 2025. The exhibition, consisting of pattern works by department students and curated by Dr. Lecturer Filiz Kara Bilgin, will remain open until May 22, 2025.
The exhibition, which included selected works from the homework assignments produced by the first-year students of the Visual Communication Design Department in the Pattern I and Pattern II courses in the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 academic years, attracted great interest from visitors. The exhibition presented basic geometric forms, object studies, texture, composition and color-spot studies developed within the scope of the Pattern I course; and examples of animal drawings, hand-foot studies, antique busts, figure and portrait studies in the Pattern II course.
The exhibition, which brought together pattern studies, one of the fundamental building blocks of art education, with art lovers, contributed both to the encouragement of students' creative development and to the visibility of art at our university.
