Only Turkish Music Department is admitting students with the Special Talent Exam.

Lunch Scholarships

80% discount is provided for all students who get lunch.  In addition, a free lunch scholarship is given to 60 students each year.

Our students can also benefit from scholarships provided by various private institutions.

There are several accommodation facilities provided by the Credit and Dormitories Foundations (KYK) nearby the Kartal/Cevizli Campus. There are also some private halls available to students within the region. 

In addition, our university has a female dormitory named as "Medeniyet Kız Yurdu" with a capacity of 95 people, located in Kartal Soğanlık, which is rented by the method of Purchase Service and the service is provided by the relevant company. 15% discount is applied to our students.

It is required to get at least 70 points from the Special Talent Exam of the department after obtaining the base score specified by the ÖSYM in the Special Ability Exam Guide of the Turkish Music Department in the entrance requirements of the relevant exam.

In Turkish Music Department, education includes mainly instrument training, collective practice lessons, theory and analysis lessons within the field of Classical Turkish Music, courses such as Western Music Solfeggio, Ottoman Turkish, Music History, and elective courses covering various research areas of musicology.

Apart from the instruments taught in the Turkish Music Department, other classical Turkish Music instruments can also be played for the exam.

The dates of entrance exams, exam scoring and principles, application conditions and quotas for the program are announced according to the academic calendar determined by the university at the website of the department.

If you are on the main list, you have earned the right to enroll in the program. You can make your final registration at IMU student affairs with the documents announced by applying to IMU student affairs within the dates specified in the IMU academic calendar. You can get detailed information about the necessary information and the process from our department's website.

Candidates who do not register within the specified time period lose their right to be a student. Instead of these candidates, candidates on the reserve list are announced and admitted to the program. It is the candidates' responsibility to follow announcements and news on the subject.

Visual Communication Design Department accepts students by Yükseköğretim Kurumları Sınavı (YKS) – Verbal score type.

Visual Communication Design Department’s graduates can work and produce multimedia projects with photography, film design, graphic design, visual effects design and editing, animation, illustration, interactive design, character design by relating these different fields to each other. They can work in agencies and production companies producing audio-visual works, in film studios, in graphic design, desktop publishing and animation companies and in relevant departments of public institutions. Additionally, our graduates can open their own studios and agencies.

Apart from the course materials like pen, paper, book, etc. needed in the theoretical courses in the Visual Communication Design Department's education program, drawing paper, paints, computer and design software, basic materials for photography and video shooting are required especially for the projects and assignments of the courses with practical hours.

Many courses have practical hours in the Visual Communication Design Department. In some of these courses, practice hours include drawing processes and students are expected to draw. Students take Drawing 1 - 2 and Basic Design 1-2 lessons, where they improve their drawing skills in the first year.
