The exhibition "3 Seconds! From Sketches to Shelves: Packaging Designs", organized by the Department of Visual Communication Design at Istanbul Medeniyet University, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, opened to visitors on May 7, 2025, at the entrance floor of Block B, Göztepe North Campus. Curated by Lecturer Serra Kızıltaş, the exhibition will be on view at the IMU Gallery until May 28, 2025.
The exhibition features projects from students who took the GIT 410 Packaging Design course during the Spring semesters of 2021–2022, 2022–2023, and 2023–2024. In this context, it also provided an opportunity to reconnect with alumni after several years. The exhibition showcases the creative journey of packaging design—from initial sketches to store shelves—reviving the design memory of past students while offering inspiration to current students and visitors alike.
It was emphasized that a packaging’s first contact with the consumer typically lasts only a few seconds. The exhibition highlighted how packaging manages to catch attention, become a preferred choice, and leave a lasting impression within that short span. It underscored that packaging is not merely a protective surface, but a vital design domain that reflects product identity and establishes silent yet powerful communication with the consumer.
